I want to be on the swim team next year but I don’t think I am very fast. I am planning to do freestyle and the front crawl technique.
How can I swim faster?

Any comments or tips for improvement would be greatly appreciated!

I was snowboarding and I feel on my wrist with a lot of force and my wrist is really sore and I can hardly move it. I have a swim competition in two days and I really cannot miss it. Is there any way that I could swim (50 freestyle/front crawl, 50 breaststroke and 25 butterfly) still?
I am 18 and know very little about stroke technique (I basically only know freestyle/front crawl). I would like to swim seriously on a team, but I’m unsure as to whether or not there are teams available for those with little experience. I have tried looking for upper-level swimming classes but the only ones my Y has for adults are for people scared of water. I can swim; that’s not my problem. I just don’t want to train on my own doing the absolute wrong thing.
So do I practice alone or what? I want to be involved in a rigorous swimming program, but it seems that the kids on the YMCA teams have been swimming competitively for years. I’m doing this because I want to get in shape and be a beach lifeguard in summer.
Thanks!
Our puppy Mischief(Tan) learnt how to swim today, after a bit of a scary start when Mischief became aware that she couldn’t just run out to Zeke(Brown), who had gone to fetch the stick Jaime threw out. She went under for a few seconds and came back up to the surface with a look of panic on her face. She gathered herself & adjusted her swimming style and splashed her way through the water, snapping at the white water she was creating with her paws. She had us both laughing at her new technique. Such a funny puppy. Zeke is just determined at times to prevent Mischief from stealing the stick after he does all the hard work, swimming out to get the stick with Mischief waiting slightly closer to the shore just waiting for delivery of the stick. Zeke puts up a good fight. Such fun…
Morning swim session.
Since the front crawl, or freestyle, is the easiest, do I have to practice other styles for the whole body to exercise and to tone up or can just do 100, 200 laps or whatever?
