How to stop water going up nose when swimming?Whenever I try and put my head under water when swimming, it gets up my nose and hurts really badly. I’ve noticed this doesn’t seem to a problem for the majority of people, so I guess it’s something I’m doing wrong. Any ideas what and how I should prevent it? does one blow out under water with their nose and breath through their mouth when they come back up?I tried today and looked like a fool, I inhaled lots of water and could not breath correctly. Eventually I had to just swim with my head above the water. It is stopping me from swimming properly and efficiently!
Maddie Lee wins a blue ribbon for first place in the 50 yard Breast Stroke at the Hilltop Swim Meet on 3/6/10. It is the first blue ribbon she has won, and comes after only 5 months in competitive swimming. Along the way she swam her fasted time in this event by topping her previous Junior Olympic time by over a half a second. Congratulations Maddie!

I’m short (5’2), with smallish shoulders, bottom heavy with long arms and legs. Hypothetically, as I’m just working on my front crawl for now in order to join a masters club, what stroke would you say would be least of a battle for me, everything else being equal?
When I was swimming today, I did breaststrokes nonstop for 45 minutes, the only problem is i dont really feel tired doing it, I could of done more for another hour. But I do know breaststroke is the easiest stroke for me to do for endurance swim. Just wondering If im burning any decent amount of calories.
front crawl is more tiring compared to others, but which one burns more calories?
