Should I stick with the front crawl and back crawl?

Swimming: Butterfly. Until recently, there have been no studies of the musculoskeletal analysis for swimming because of the difficulty to estimate the fluid force acting on the swimmer’s whole body, although such analysis could prove to be valuable information for the athlete swimmer’s training and coaching. Now, a full-body musculoskeletal simulator for swimming has been developed for the AnyBody Modeling System, which enables to calculate fluid force acting on the whole body during swimming. The model presents 4 swimming styles: Crawl, Breststroke, Backstroke, and Butterfly. All Videos: 1. Crawl: www.youtube.com 2. Breaststroke: www.youtube.com 3. Backstroke: www.youtube.com 4. Butterfly: www.youtube.com The research on swimming has been conducted by a research group at Tokyo Institute of Technology, led by Dr. Nakashima. How to stop water going up nose when swimming?Whenever I try and put my head under water when swimming, it gets up my nose and hurts really badly. I’ve noticed this doesn’t seem to a problem for the majority of people, so I guess it’s something I’m doing wrong. Any ideas what and how I should prevent it? does one blow out under water with their nose and breath through their mouth when they come back up?I tried today and looked like a fool, I inhaled lots of water and could not breath correctly. Eventually I had to just swim with my head above the water. It is stopping me from swimming properly and efficiently!
