Hey, I work out most days of the week, and want to start interval training at the gym to make my workout more fun (if it gets boring, I lose motivation and membership is expensive!!!)…
Does this sound like a good fat burning workout…
Jogging 10 mins..then fast walking (6.0 mph) on an incline of around 5-6…Repeated until I have done this for around 40 minutes. (Followed by 30 minutes of front crawl swimming)
Answers appreciated…and any interval training tips would help as well..
I started swimming again (free style/front crawl) in November 2010 after a 16 year break. Although I can do 40-50 25 yard laps a day, I need to take a 10-30 second break between laps or sometimes more.
How can I build stamina and endurance to keep going without breaks?
I am 27 years old, male, 141 pounds. I do do weights (3-4 times a week, particularly the p90x program).
Any suggestions on diet? I am a vegetarian but eat eggs.
I used to swim competitively but have not swam, really swam in about 8 years. I am taking it up again recreationally but cannot for the life of me remember how to breathe correctly. I know you are supposed to breathe every 1.5 seconds in the triangle of your right arm as it comes up. My problem is that I cannot get enough air in that time or I can’t get my head up enough out of the water and I end up turning my head forward and breathing. This is pretty much just a waste of energy since it slows me down and I look foolish as well.
Anyone have any tips on how to correctly and efficiently breathe during Freestyle?
if I alternate between front crawl and breastroke?
Also, what am I actually working on when I do this?
And, how good is it compared to say a km of running on a treadmill
What do you mean when a swimming stroke is unregulated like the front crawl and side stroke?
I am thinking about becoming a lifeguard. i know you have to swim the 300 front crawl and breast stroke and get a brick, but what else do you have to do? like what goes on in the water portion of the certification. i know all about the cpr and whatnot. i just want to know about the water certification. also are you allowed to wear goggles when you do everything in the water? thank you!
good day!
I currently swim 2000meters all front crawl on in one go. but is it better to do smaller sets?
thanks!
I am a distance runner and in very good shape. However, I don’t swim much. When I do swim, I am normally gasping for breath by 150 yards while doing the front crawl stroke. Is this normal for me to be out of breath like this even though I am in shape? It wouldn’t mean that I have asthma would it?
I need to know what muscles are being individually targeted when I swim in the different styles (front crawl, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly). What muscles do each style strengthen.
