I’m working on being able to swim 400+ consecutive yards using a combination of breast stroke and front crawl.. any tips?

I’m swimming for gym… which is first period -___- I need some ideas on how to style my hair for swimming because my hair gets really tangled in the water. I was thinking braids. What kind tho.. Thanks.
